Make no mistake about it, the importance of written goals are paramount to success. Here’s the proof, do Google search for “Harvard MBA Written Goal Study.” You will find that the 3% of the students that had written goals made ten times the amount of the other 97% COMBINED!!! For more information on written goals, read “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.
My advice: At the very least you should write down the ten things you’re most focused on at any given time. I would read them aloud at least once or twice a day to keep focused.
As part of The Value Story, I am including a current list of the 10 things that I’m working on. If you notice they are ideas, mindsets and financial goals. I really do thank God for what we have at the beginning and end of the list. Also notice that these goals revolve around a work-life balance. Just a quick quote on the importance of staying focused on your long term goals…”The reason most people fail instead of succeed is they trade what they want most for what they want at the moment.” -Napoleon Bonaparte Stay with the plan, no matter what the plan is. Even if it’s quitting smoking for goodness sakes….

I’ll end this section by addressing the importance of some of the little frustrations that stress us throughout our life. Don’t ever change who you are, or confuse what is important with what’s not important. Truly think about the frustrations from five years ago. Most of them have had very little impact on where you are today.
